i seriously couldnt believe this when i hear, the 44 years old Crocodile Hunter died filming a documentary, man he´s done so many crazy things that i seriouly didnt see this one comming.

The Australian reports that the footage shows that Irwin was swimming above a 2.5m stingray before it turned on him

"Something happened with this animal and made it rear and he was in the wrong position at the wrong time and if it hit him anywhere else we would not be talking about a fatality," Mr West says in the report.

But John Stainton said although Irwin got into plenty of "close shaves" with his antics involving various dangerous animals over the years, his star charge never feared death.

"You think about all the documentaries we've made and all the dangerous situations that we have been in, you always think 'Is this it, is this a day that maybe is his demise?'," he said in Cairns.

"We've been in some pretty close shaves.

"(But) nothing would ever scare Steve or would worry him. He didn't have a fear of death at all."

Mr Stainton, who was producing the underwater documentary, said Irwin died instantly.

He said Irwin had gone "over the top of a stingray and a stingray's barb went up and went into his chest and put a hole into his heart''.

"We got him back within a couple of minutes to Croc One, which is his research vessel,'' Mr Stainton said.

"We tried to quickly trip back to Low Isle where we were going to meet the emergency rescue people to do immediate and constant CPR, try and resuscitate him back into life.

"When we got there it was probably ten to 12, and by 12 o'clock when the emergency crew arrived they pronounced him dead.

"It's likely that he possibly died instantly when the barb hit him, and I don't think that he ... felt any pain.''

Haley Joel Osment has been charged with drunk driving.

'The Sixth Sense' actor was twice over the legal limit when arrested after crashing his car in Los Angeles last month.

Osment broke a rib and hurt his shoulder when he lost control of his vehicle, hit a mailbox and flipped over.

The star - who, at 18-years-old, is not legally allowed to drink alcohol under US law - has also been charged with possession of marijuana.

If convicted, Osment could be sentenced to six months in jail.

However, Jane Robinson, spokesperson for the Los Angeles District Attorney, insists it is unlikely he will be imprisoned.

Robinson said: "First-time DUI offenders are normally sentenced to probation and alcohol treatment."

Former blink-182 singer-guitarist Tom DeLonge and his wife, furniture designer Jennifer, have welcomed their second child, Jonas Rocket DeLonge, the musician's rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The baby, who was born at 5:03 p.m. on Wednesday in Los Angeles, weighed 7 lbs., 13 oz. and measured 20 1/2 inches.

The couple already have a daughter, Ava Elizabeth, who turned 4 on July 15.

The new arrival certainly won't lack for proper furnishings. In January, Jennifer launched a line of high-end kids' furniture that has won fans including Courteney Cox and Gwyneth Paltrow.

Ava is "our No. 1 tester," Jennifer told PEOPLE in April. "She helps pick out colors – she's a little artist."

Friends since high school, Tom and Jennifer began dating in 1996 and married in 2001, a year after she received a B.A. in fine arts from San Diego State University and started a now defunct interior-design business.

"She's always had such a desire to create and use her amazing mind," Tom told PEOPLE. "That's part of the attraction."

Jennifer also supports her husband's work: While pregnant with Jonas, she and Ava traveled by bus with Tom this spring as he toured the U.S. and Europe with his new band, Angels & Airwaves.

NEW YORK (AP) — Harry Connick Jr. was so moved by the devastation he witnessed in his Katrina-ravaged hometown of New Orleans, he wrote a song about it.

Connick was left shaken during a trip to New Orleans in the days immediately after the storm.

"All These People," Connick's duet with gospel singer Kim Burrell, will be released Aug. 29, the one-year anniversary of Katrina's landfall.

All proceeds will go to the New Orleans Habitat Musicians' Village, a rebuilding project formed by Connick and Branford Marsalis, Columbia Records announced Wednesday.

"The song is all about the people who were left stranded at the convention center," the 38-year-old singer said in a statement. "I wrote four verses, each describing what I saw as I was taken through by a kind fellow I had met on the street earlier that day named Darryl."

Connick said Burrell was the "perfect" duet partner.

"She, too, had been deeply affected by the hurricane, and was moved by the challenge of putting her feelings into the song," he said.

"All These People" is the first single off Connick's New Orleans big-band album "Oh My Nola," set for release this fall.

BRUNO KIRBY DIES AT 57

Veteran character actor Bruno Kirby died Monday in Los Angeles from complications related to leukemia, his wife, Lynn Sellers, said in a statement.

He was 57 and had been diagnosed with the disease only recently.

Born Bruno Giovanni Quidaciolu in New York City, Kirby was known for his roles as the young Pete Clemenza in 1974's The Godfather: Part II, Lt. Steven Hauk in 1987's Good Morning, Vietnam and Billy Crystal's best friend in 1989's When Harry Met Sally … and 1991's City Slickers.

Most recently, he appeared on HBO's Entourage as fictitious producer Phil Rubenstein, whose priceless Shrek doll is stolen.

"We are incredibly grateful for the outpouring of support we have received from Bruno's fans and colleagues who have admired and respected his work over the past 30 years," his wife said in a statement on behalf of Kirby's entire family. "Bruno's spirit will continue to live on not only in his rich body of film and television work but also through the lives of individuals he has touched throughout his life."

The statement continued, "We ask that contributions be made in Bruno Kirby's name to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society at 6033 West Century Blvd., Suite 300, Los Angeles, CA 90045."

Kirby is survived by his wife, father, stepmother Roz Kirby, brother John Kirby and stepbrother Brad Sullivan.

Cowell made the surprising comment on British Radio Four show 'Desert Island Discs' - in which celebrities choose their favourite records.

Of the eight tunes he would choose to take if stranded on a desert island, Cowell only chose one recent pop hit, Daniel Bedingfield's 'If You're Not The One'. His other choices were all 50s and 60s ballads, including Bobby Darin's 1959 recoding of 'Mack The Knife'.

When asked what his one luxury item would be, Cowell said: "Easy, a mirror. It's because I'd miss me."

When the host asked: "Are you going to let us broadcast that?" Cowell laughed and replied: "I don't care. I'm on my own, no one around, I might as well have a mirror."

"The workers at the day-care centre are very protective of Brad and won't let any of the other parents approach him or talk to him."

Cox and husband David Arquette were on hand to support a family friend whose child suffers from Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB), an incurable genetic disorder that affects about 25,000 people in the U.S. and causes skin to become as fragile and easily torn as tissue paper. Its sufferers are known as "butterfly children" because their skin can be damaged by even the lightest contact.

Why did Cox get involved with the charity? "This horrible genetic problem that no one knows about – there's not enough awareness out there," she said. "I feel so fortunate because David and I – having Coco, we were so blessed. I would say that that's where my heart is most."

Cox is also the spokesperson for Kinerase Clear Skin Collection and Vitamins, which, through the end of October, is donating 5 percent of proceeds to the EB Medical Research Foundation

Lance Bass, the former 'N Sync heartthrob, reveals that he is gay, in an exclusive interview with People.

"I knew that I was in this popular band and I had four other guys' careers in my hand, and I knew that if I ever acted on it or even said (that I was gay), it would overpower everything," says Bass, referring to bandmates Joey Fatone, Chris Kirkpatrick, JC Chasez, and Justin Timberlake.

"I didn’t know: Could that be the end of ’N Sync? So I had that weight on me of like, ‘Wow, if I ever let anyone know, it's bad.' So I just never did," he says speaking about his sexual orientation for the first time with People.

Now, after years of keeping his personal life private, the Mississippi-bred, Southern Baptist-reared Bass, 27, is publicly revealing what he first shared with his friends, then his shocked family.

"He took years to really think about how he was going to tell everyone," says his close buddy Fatone, 29, who was the first 'N Sync bandmate to find out Bass is gay. "I back him up 100 percent." Adds Bass’s longtime pal, actress Christina Applegate: "I've always accepted him as who he is. It's about his own serenity at this point."

Having pursued acting, producing and – most memorably – space flight after ’N Sync went on hiatus in 2002, Bass now is looking ahead to new beginnings. He is in a "very stable" relationship with model-actor-Amazing Race winner Reichen Lehmkuhl, 32, and is developing an Odd Couple-inspired sitcom pilot with Fatone in which his character will be gay.

Mostly, though, he’s just enjoying the relief that comes with the culmination of a long, at times emotionally fraught journey.

"The thing is, I’m not ashamed – that’s the one thing I want to say," he explains of his decision to come out. "I don't think it's wrong, I'm not devastated going through this. I'm more liberated and happy than I’ve been my whole life. I'm just happy."

As for why he's talking about this now Bass says, "The main reason I wanted to speak my mind was that (the rumors) really were starting to affect my daily life. Now it feels like it's on my terms. I'm at peace with my family, my friends, myself and God so there's really nothing else that I worry about."

Vanessa Minnillo and Nick Lachey put their PDA on full display at New York City's Atlantic Grill on Monday. Later, the duo made the scene at hot spot Butter, where they canoodled and partied with pals Wilmer Valderrama and Jamie-Lynn Sigler.source

Nick and Vanessa are in NYC and apparently they were all over each other while partying at Butter in the comfort of the VIP club. Lachey, in jeans and a button-down shirt, and Minnillo, in a red dress, began the night chatting in their booth with Russell Simmons before Minnillo danced on the banquet to Shakira's "Hips Don't Lie" and "Gasolina."

When Jay-Z's "99 Problems" came on at around 12:45 a.m., Minnillo indulged Lachey in what would be the first of several lap dances.

Shortly thereafter, she was up on the banquet again, dancing with Jamie-Lynn Sigler to the Jackson 5's "Want You Back" and "Sweet Home Alabama."

When Justin Timberlake's "SexyBack" came on, Minnillo settled into Lachey's lap and sang it to him. But the song that Lachey enjoyed the most was the Rocky theme, "Eye of the Tiger," which got him waving his arms and moving his head to the beat.

Glamour model Jordan, real name Katie Price, has suffered a miscarriage of her new baby at four months.

The 28-year-old, who is married to pop star Peter Andre, found out that she had lost her baby during a routine scan at The Portland Hospital last Friday, in London.
According to Jordan's manager, Claire Powell, the couple were "devastated" over their loss, saying: "They just want to deal with it on their own and they are both devastated."
"We are trying to give them all the love and support they need."
Powell also said Jordan was upset because the news of her miscarriage had leaked.
She said: "It is not something they want me to go into at all. They want it to be kept a very private matter."
"I know they do a lot in the press, but there are a lot of things people do not know as well," Powell added.
Jordan is currently recovering at her home in East Sussex.
Last month, Jordan and her 33-year-old husband celebrated the first birthday of their son Junior. Jordan also has a 4-year-old son, Harvey, from her previous relationship with footballer Dwight Yorke.

'I'm surprised Disney pays me!'

JUST LIKE all of US, Johnny Depp loves Captain Jack Sparrow.
A mumbling rogue with equal passion for the sea, rum and heavy eyeliner, Captain Jack became Hollywood's first truly iconic character of the new century. Now, Jack is back with Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest, second in a trilogy of Pirates films. Shortly before returning to work on the third film in the series Depp discussed his affection for Captain Jack, locking himself in his sauna, and why he loves playing with Barbie dolls.

Did the success of the first film come as a surprise to you?

I'd gotten used to the idea of never being in a successful film -- I was pretty comfy with that -- so it was a terrific shock to me and I'm still sort of babbling about it. I really appreciate the fact that people accepted the character and really supported me because at a certain point some of the better-dressed people at Disney were having a difficult time with my interpretation of the character. The success of the film was a win-win situation for me.

Did you ever think of playing Jack Sparrow straight?

I toyed with the idea, but I firmly believe that we're all out of our minds on some level, including Captain Jack. We're all really weird in our own special ways and we usually try to deny that because nobody wants to be thought of as mad or insane or weird or whatever, so we put on the mask and play the game. But Jack doesn't bother to even try to play the game, which is why he's so liberating to play. (gos this is wy i love him)

Also, I think there are a lot of actors out there who play the straight guys really well, so I feel like that's covered and maybe I'll try and give the audience a little something different, try to make them feel it's okay to be individual or to be weird. (no one and i mean no one, can play a good character as Johnny Depp)

So what do you make of your own reputation for being weird?

I just think I wear my weirdo badge a little more often and a little more openly than most people, that's all.(yes dude you rock)

Captain Jack steps off a sinking boat in The Curse of the Black Pearl and is immediately in the thick of the action. There's very little explanation about his background or history. Did you work you out how he got to be who he is?

I decided he was very probably a guy who had been press-ganged into the navy, made his way into being a cartographer, and so on. It gets pretty elaborate and is probably very boring for everyone apart from me. The other thing that helped me with Captain Jack was playing Barbies with my kids. It's a great way as an actor to experiment with voices. I'd start to assume the character of Captain Jack with the Barbie and my daughter would go, 'Um, Papa, could you just do your regular voice?' I did the same with Willy Wonka.

You acknowledged basing Captain Jack on [Rolling Stones guitarist] Keith Richards. But what about his stumbling walk. Does Keith Richards walk like that?
(Laughs) I suppose Jack's body language came from extreme heat. I actually locked myself in the sauna for a long period of time -- something I don't recommend by the way -- because I thought that out on the open seas for long, long periods of time you would be subjected to the elements, particularly the heat, in a very extreme way. And what I discovered from being in the sauna for so long was that the heat starts to affect the way you move and you get very, very uncomfortable. That's sort of how Jack's movement was born.

Does Captain Jack have an even bigger role to play in Dead Man's Chest and the third film?

One of the things early on when we discussed doing the sequels was that I felt it was very important, and Gore [Verbinski, the director] agreed, not to make it 'The Captain Jack Sparrow Show.' I thought there had to be a balance between Captain Jack and Will Turner and Elizabeth, to thread him through the story and not let the audience get sick of him.

Jack Sparrow has just been added to the Pirates of the Caribbean ride at Disneyland. Did you like the idea?
It was Disney's idea to incorporate some of the characters in the film into the ride and by the time they came to me they apparently had a very limited time frame. I could see beads of sweat forming on their foreheads when I started to give them my thoughts. But yeah, it's a gas; it's a real honor. My kids can take their kids and their kids can take their kids to go see me still in that condition. I imagine I'll look quite different later on.

Now you have children, do you choose films with them in mind?

With Finding Neverland, I loved the idea that it was about the guy that created Peter Pan, but it also just happened to be the story that I was interested in at that point. Other than that, the only other two films that children could see have been Pirates of the Caribbean and Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and it just so happened that they came one right after the other. But I also recently did a film called The Libertine and kiddies will have to wait about 50 years before they check that one out.

Do you still enjoy acting as much as you did when you started out?
More, because now I choose the characters I want.

Don't say this in front of Disney but I'm surprised they actually pay me for Pirates of the Caribbean! Captain Jack gives me the opportunity to be as irreverent as possible and not get in trouble for it.

I have a ball and the most fun is being in a scene when something unexpected happens -- pure chance, a mistake where somebody forgets a line or you say a different line and it throws the whole balance out of whack. Suddenly the floor is gone beneath you and everybody is winging it for a second, and that's pure magic for me.

After Dead Man's Chest, there's another Pirates film on the way, which will be the last of the trilogy. Will you be sorry to say goodbye to Captain Jack?
Absolutely. Every time out of the gate, when you get to spend time with these guys, with these characters, there's always that certain point that arrives when the clock starts ticking and you know you're going to have to say goodbye. And though it sounds horribly silly for a middle-aged man to admit, I do go through a kind of bizarre decompression where you miss these guys because you know you're never going to see them again in that capacity.

They may rear their ugly heads with me every now and again, when I go into one of my Barbie jags for example, but you don't get to play them again. So I miss them. I'm not looking forward to saying goodbye to Jack Sparrow at all. And maybe I won't have to. Maybe Disney and Jerry Bruckheimer will think of doing a fourth film, hint hint.

Texas native is putting his '71 Corvette Stingray on eBay

DALLAS - Matthew McConaughey is selling a sports car on eBay to raise money for hurricane relief. The 36-year-old actor is donating all proceeds from the sale of his 1971 Corvette Stingray convertible to Oprah's Angel Network for Katrina and Rita recovery efforts, according to details on the Web site www.oprah.com

Katrina hit the Gulf Coast on Aug. 29, forcing several hundred thousand Louisiana evacuees to flee to Texas. Rita slammed southeast Texas on Sept. 24.

LA CANADA FLINTRIDGE, Calif. - Actor Haley Joel Osment was hospitalized early Thursday after he apparently lost control of his car while heading to his Los Angeles area home, authorities said.

Osment, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his role as a boy who could see dead people in "The Sixth Sense," was driving a 1995 Saturn about 1 a.m. when the car collided with a brick pillar and flipped, said Los Angeles County sheriff's Lt. Greg Sisneros.

The 18-year-old actor was awake and talking following the crash, Sisneros said. He had been alone in the car and was taken to Huntington Hospital in nearby Pasadena.

Sisneros had no information on his condition, and an emergency-room receptionist said no one under that name was at the hospital.

Osment is set to appear in the upcoming "Home of the Giants." In the film, he plays a high school journalist covering a basketball team as it heads toward the state championship.

La Canada Flintridge, a suburb of Los Angeles, is about 14 miles northeast of downtown

The former boy-bander and Mousketeer admits he has dabbled in drugs — and says he sees nothing wrong with it.

“I've done way too many drugs already. I've already inhaled and I've already ... who knows?” Timberlake tells the Brit magazine Observer Music Monthly. “I'm just like everyone else, I get completely plastered, I've done my fair share of drugs and I've been caught places with my pants down. It's just I make sure there are no cameras around.”
Timberlake, however, refused to discuss his relationship with Cameron Diaz, which is rumored to have hit a rough patch — allowing only he’s “not ready to settle down yet.” He was, however, quite forthcoming about his use of controlled substances, saying that because of his squeaky-clean image, he’s held to a higher standard than some rockers. “What I really think is that I've never done anything that bad,” he said. “I don't show up drunk to functions and the drugs I do have been in my own private time ... If Courtney Love shows up to a function it's like: ‘Oh that’s Courtney Love,’ but if I show up drunk it's like: ‘Oh my God.’”
